Where the money goes.
DearestEllie is a family memory commons, sustained by families helping families. We account for what comes in and where it goes.

Family Memory Fund
Sponsors families who cannot pay — low-income, hospice, sudden-loss, foster and adoptive, elderly, dementia preservation, and community-history projects.
Funded by: Families who can help, plus community partners
Surplus allocation
Any surplus goes back into free access, open-archive tools, privacy and preservation, the workers who do this, and the Family Memory Fund. No venture capital, no ads, no selling family data.
Donors cannot buy control
Donors and community partners cannot buy control over the mission. Giving funds free access for families — it never purchases a vote, priority over another family, or influence over policy or governance.
