HELP · QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PLAINLY

Can other family members override my visibility choices?

The people who steward an archive — its owner and admins — moderate what they steward: they review submissions, organize chapters, and can set memories aside. But there's a line the system itself enforces: nothing becomes more public without a steward's explicit, deliberate act. No setting, no bulk action, no update ever widens visibility as a side effect.

And your private things stay yours. Notes and memories you keep at the private level are visible to you (and the archive's owner, who is responsible for everything the archive holds) — not to the wider family, and never to the public unless someone with the authority to publish chooses to, one item at a time. If you're contributing something you'd want handled gently, say so when you submit it; stewards can honor that.
